20 days Kenya Tanzania Tour Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival
You will arrive at Jomo Kenyata International Airport and you will immediately be met by our safari guide or driver who will transfer you to Starnly or Panafric Hotel in Nairobi city for your dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Lake Nakuru
You are expected to wake up very early in the morning for breakfast and then transfer to Lake Nakuru through the rift valley escarpment while viewing the world’s largest land rift past mount Longnot.
Lake Nakuru is very famous for having over one million flamingoes which are in existence because of the alkaline mineral salts in the lake which support vast blooms of the blue-green algae and diatoms on which the flamingoes feed.
You will not only stop here but also continue to the rhino reserve to have a look at the rhinos with lunch. You will then have a game drive in search for lions. Because you will be tired, you will be transferred to Sarova Lion Hill lodge or Lake Nakuru lodge for dinner and over night.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Baringo and Lake Bogoria
This morning, you will have your breakfast and depart from Lake Nakuru to Lake Baringo for a late morning game drive. This Baringo Lake is a fresh water lake in the rift valley and is also known for having birds perhaps this is the reason why it called the bird sanctuary. Because it has a variety of birds, am sure you will like every bit of a glance. You will see birds like the goliath, herons, verveaux eagles, the rare bristle starling and so many others with lunch en-route. Just after your lunch, you will continue to Lake Bigoria famous for being a soda lake as well as home to a small number of flamingoes, other birds, boiling hot springs and geysers. Am sure what you will see will make your trip comfortable. You will not travel back to Lake Baringo and so will have your dinner and over night at Bogoria Lake Hotel.
Day 4: Samburu
This morning you will have breakfast and leave for Samburu National Reserve. We shall pass through Kikuyu land (north wards) and cross the equator into Samburu National reserve. You will get there at lunch time therefore you will first have lunch and then go for the game viewing throughout the whole evening. Later in the night, you will have your dinner and overnight at Samburu Sarova lodge.
Day 5: Samburu National Reserve
Have a morning game drive and transfer to Samburu National Reserve for game viewing in search of the big five. You will search for game like the gravy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, graceful gerenuk, the rare liver-red reticulated giraffe, antelopes, beisa, Oryx, vulture guinea fowl, graving lions on the grass, leopards and so many more. After game viewing, you will have lunch and those who wish will Samburu village walk, there after you will have dinner and overnight at Samburu Sarova lodge.
Day 6: Transfer to Mountain Kenya.
Of course after your morning breakfast, you will transfer to Mount Kenya hence driving south to the luxurious Mount Kenya safari club which was set just at the foot of Mount Kenya. Because this place is very exciting, you will have lunch there and enjoy the club facilities by shaking a little bit, make friends until when you are exhausted. In the night, you will have your dinner and spend the over night at Mountain Kenya safari club.
Day 7: Transfer to Masai Mara.
This is also another exciting place to spend a day from. So you will have your breakfast and then proceed to Nanyuki airstrip for a flight to Masai – Mara. When you reach Masai- Mara, you will have lunch and then go for the game drive in a four wheel drive. Game driving is one of the best and interesting activities and so after that, you will drive back to Mara Sopa Lodge or Mara Fig Tree camp for your dinner and over night.
Day 8: Masai Mara – The animal migration.
This morning, you will enjoy the game viewing drive in an open grass land of Serengeti Mara which is a home to more than 3 million mammals. There are over 1.4 million wildebeest which migrate in an enormous, straggling herd each year between the southern part of the Serengeti to the northern part and back again. In most cases, these animals do not move alone, they normally move with other herbivores like the giraffes, zebras, gazelles which also migrate in search for good grass. This is quite exciting because as herbivores look for good grass some where else, they are as well eaten up by the carnivores like lions, cheaters and the likes. So do you see how interesting it is? You will spend the whole day therefore learning about the web dependency issue until late in the night for dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa lodge or Mara fig tree camp.
Day 9 Transfer back to Nairobi.
As usual, a morning breakfast and have a game drive for a few hours for warming up your mind to get ready for Tanzania. So after enjoying your morning drive, you will transfer back to Nairobi by road with lunch en-route. You will reach in the after noon and you will be checked in at Panafric Hotel for dinner and over night.
Day 10: Transfer to Arusha – Tarangire
After an early breakfast, you will transfer to Arusha using a shuttle bus such that you are there by lunch time for your lunch. After your lunch, you will drive to Tarangire National Park from Arusha for your dinner and overnight at Tarangire Sopa Lodge.
Day 11: Tarangire National Park
You will enjoy your self at Tarangire National Park after breakfast. You will begin with a morning game drive which will provide you with spectacular views of different animals like the Blue monkeys, hornbills, pelicans, herons, elephants in very large herds grazing, jackals, cheaters, fish eagles, hippos, mara-boustorks and so many more. You will rest for a while having your packed lunch and then go back for the second afternoon game drive. Later in the evening, you will transfer back to Tarangire National Park for your dinner and overnight.
Day 12: From Tarangire to Ngorongoro.
After you early morning breakfast, you will transfer to Ngorongoro. You will reach in the afternoon so you will have lunch at Noitoktok. After your lunch, you will visit the crater and you will be in position to see some of the animals like lions, elephants ,zebras, a small number of flamingoes, wildebeest, spotted hyena, grant’s, Thompson’s gazelle, cheaters. You might not be able to see all the interesting things around the crater because of time but will go back there on the next day. So after glancing at the animals, you will e driven back to the camp on the crater rim for your dinner and overnight.
Day 13: Ngorongoro
On this day, you will head to Ngorongoro for a full day crater tour. Remember that you are spending the whole day there so you are advised to carry picnic lunch with you. This Ngorongoro crater is 670 meters deep and surrounded with several animals some of which include the lions, elephants ,zebras, a small number of flamingoes, wildebeest, spotted hyena, grant’s, Thompson’s gazelle, cheaters and so many more. Because you will be tired, you will first rest for a while with lunch at Noitoktok springs picnic site. After your late lunch, you will some time to watch some birds until you are transferred back to the camp on the crater rim for delicious dinner and overnight.
Day 14: Transfer to Serengeti
Immediately after your morning breakfast, you will transfer to Serengeti National Park. This is Africa’s popular game reserve. This game reserve contains so many animals and in fact if possible, you can see all of them. In this Park, the wildebeest and the zebras are the most common animals; you can not spend a minute without spotting at least one. Most of the cat family can be seen in the plains while the elephants are a bit scarce. There are other animals (endangered black rhinos which are restricted at the Moru Koppies area. All these animals you will see on your next day after arrival. So you will arrive and have a late lunch and after you will proceed for a game drive, dinner and overnight at Serengeti Lodge.
Day 15: Serengeti National Park: The great migration.
This day is very interesting because you learn a lot. So after your morning breakfast, you will do the game driving activity in the Serengeti for the whole morning and this will indeed be memorable. Still in the afternoon, you will go back for the game drive and you will as well enjoy it for the second time. Because of too much fun, you will again excite your self with lunch, refreshments and a relaxation at the lodge or camp site. At Serengeti National Park, you will be in position to view all the big five and other animals like the zebras, gazelle, antelopes, wildebeest and some others. You will later get to know that some animals like wildebeest and zebras do migrate in June and July. This Serengeti National park also has a few carnivores like the lions, leopards, hyenas and cheaters. This day will indeed be exciting, so you will have your dinner and overnight at Serengeti Lodge.
Day 16: Drive to Lake Manyara.
You will wake up very early in the morning such that you transfer to Lake Manyara to set up the camp where you shall be staying. This activity might go on up to lunch time, so you will have lunch as well as finishing the camps. After that, you will then go for a game drive and am very sure that you will like what you will see on your way. You will see birds of all colors as well as hear their exotic sounds. You will also see a home of tree climbing lions, the giraffes, hippos, zebras and buffaloes. The wild game that you will see will excite you that you will only have one option of having your dinner and overnight at Manyara wildlife lodge.
Day 17: Transfer to Arusha- Nairobi.
You will have an early morning breakfast and then proceed to Arusha town in time for lunch. After having lunch, you will relax a bit and then continue by a shuttle bus to Nairobi or even by flight. On your arrival to Nairobi, you will be tired I guess therefore you will just transfer to Stanley Hotel for your dinner and overnight.
Day 18: Head to Tsavo East
You will have a morning breakfast from Nairobi Hotel and then drive to Tsavo East National Park along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway such that you enter the Park through the Bachuma Gate at in time for lunch at Kilaguni Lodge, game drive en-route in search for lions, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, waterbucks, cheaters, leopards and a variety of birds. You will do this activity and it will indeed be enjoyable, so after all what you will have done, you will have your lunch and then check in at Kilaguni lodge. After lunch, you will get back for a second game drive at around 4:00pm and then dinner and overnight at Kilaguni lodge.
Day 19: Continue to Tsavo West – Amboseli
On this day, you will have your morning breakfast as usual and then depart to Tsavo West National park. The moment you get there, you will begin off with the morning game drive that will take you to Mzima Springs to have clear views of the hippos and fish at the underwater. After that, you will continue with your game drive in search for leopards, giraffes, elephants, birds and so many others. Because you will be a little bit tired, you will have your lunch and a relaxation of about 5 minutes such that you to Amboseli National reserve for your preferred dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 20: Amboseli National Park $ Departure.
You will wake up very early in the morning, have your breakfast and then proceed for the game drive. This game drive will reveal a number of things and among these, you will see different wild life in the Park including some of the largest elephants in Africa, hyenas, leopards, lions, rhinos and so many animals that live here. You will be driving to Nairobi with lunch enroute such that you arrive late in the afternoon in time for your Airport flight back home.
