18 DAYS KENYA LODGE SAFARI

This 18 days (17 nights) will begin and then finish in Nairobi. You will visit different destinations around Nairobi and according to my personal experiences; you will not regret each moment you are there. This 18 days safari will take you to places like Mt. Kenya, Sweetwater’s tented camp, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara, Mombasa, just to mention but a few.

You will spend 2 nights at Boulevard Hotel, 1 night at Mountain Rock Lodge, 1 night at Sweet Waters Tented Camp, 1 night at Tree Tops, 1 night at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge or similar, 2 night at Naivasha Sopa Lodge, Mara Serena Lodge for 3 nights, 5 nights at Mombasa Serena beach Hotel and 1 night at Carnivore restaurant.

Tour itinerary for 18 days safari to Kenya.

DAY 1: Arrival in Nairobi.

You are expected to arrive in Nairobi using the Jomo Kenyata International Airport. You will be met then by our professional safari guides/ drivers who will transfer you to Hotel Boulevard for your dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Nairobi.

On this day, you will head to the Nairobi National Park to see the bird residents of the Park. In the morning after your breakfast, you will begin with a walk in the garden of our hotel will give us our first view of African birds, including Northern Pied Babbler, Holub’s Golden Weaver, Speckled Mouse bird, Dusky Turtle Doves and numerous Sunbirds. Other birds may include Common Ostrich, Secretary Bird, several Vulture species, Cattle and Great Egrets, Tawny Eagle, and a herd of Cape buffalo with Red-billed Woodpeckers perched on their backs. Jackson’s Widowbird, Black Kite, Marabou Stork, Pied Crow and African Palm Swift. You will not only see birds in the National Park; you will have an opportunity to spot out a few animals like Gazelles, Zebras, giraffes and some cat animals. In the evening, you will descend back to Boulevard Hotel for your dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Nairobi Mt. Kenya.

You will have your morning breakfast and later transfer to the lower slopes of Mountain Kenya with game drive enroute with a stop over at Nyahururu Thomson Falls which is the longest fall in Kenya. You will arrive at Serena Mountain Lodge in time for a late lunch. Yes you will have lunch of course and rest there. This Serena Mount Lodge is located on the slopes of Mount Kenya surrounded by the dense rain forest that comes alive at dusk with a myriad of sounds that makes the African bush so special and exhilarating. Considered the most spectacular forest water hole in the Aberdares, the lodge’s waterhole presents a constant ballet of wildlife.
This lodge also has 42 attractive bedrooms furnished with indigenous wood and African art which will make your stay much more comfortable. You will sleep earlier enough such that that you are able to get up early for the Sweet waters therefore you will have your dinner and overnight at Mountain Rock Lodge.

Day 4: SweetWaters Tented Camp.

It is very interesting to visit Sweet waters game drive. So after your morning breakfast, you will depart to Mountain Lodge and drive a little further north across the equator to Sweet waters Game Reserve. When you reach the place, you will head to sweet waters tented camp where you will have your lunch from. After lunch, you will have an afternoon game drive in the private sanctuary. This very special 23,000 acre wildlife sanctuary was originally established to protect and breed highly-endangered Black Rhinos. In 1994 the Jane Goodall Institute established the Sweet waters Chimpanzee Sanctuary which is a home of 26 orphaned chimpanzees the only one of its kind in Kenya. You will also visit Morani the tame rhino and the Visitors Information Centre. In the evening, you will transfer back to Sweet waters Tented Camp for your dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Sweetwaters / Treetops

After breakfast depart to the Tree tops, lunch at the Outspan hotel, Afterwards transfer to Tree tops for overnight game viewing .A uniquely shaped lodge tucked away in the Aberdare National Park Forest .The lodge water-hole and salt link are well lit at night when the animals come to drink and a well concealed”hide” affords eye-eye viewing of forest Elephant and other game, including the endangered Rhino. Please look out for: Baboon, Buffalo, Bushback, pig, Civets, Duikers, Giant forest Hog, Colobus and Syke’s Monkeys. The birdlife includes some species not common in other places among them being: Green Ibis, Rufous, Sparrow Hawk, Mountain Buzzard, Crowned Eagle and silvery-Cheeked Hornbill. You are advised to carry warm clothing’s because nights tend to be a bit cold and chilly, then for those of you who have children, the ones below 7 years are as well not allowed. Dinner and overnight is always at the tree tops lodge.

Day 6: Treetops/ Lake Nakuru lodge.

You are expected to wake up very early in the morning for your breakfast. After your breakfast, you will transfer to Naivasha in order to head to Nakuru. The reason for this is to arrive at Sarova Lion Hill in time for lunch. Saroma Lion Hill is situated in Lake Nakuru National Park, which is enriched with a fantastic array of bird life. Lake Nakuru is known for the large concentration of flamingoes which reside along the Lake shore hence giving it a hue.  When you get to the Park, you will find other animals like the rare Rothschild giraffe, the waterbucks, the Burchell’s zebras, just to mention but a few.

Within this Park, there is the Malaika falls which is also another attraction that will make your stay enjoyable. Later in the afternoon, you will have a game drive until evening when you will transfer to Sarova Lion Hill Lodge for your dinner and overnight

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Naivasha.

On this day, you will arrive in Nairobi and depart for Naivasha immediately. By the time you reach Naivasha, you will be hungry and so you will just have lunch. After lunch, you will transfer to Lake Naivasha for a boat ride and a walking safari at Crescent Island, one of the few places in the world where one can walk amidst wild animals. On this day, you will have another boat ride in the after and you might see another group of wild animals. Later in the night, you will have dinner and overnight at Naivasha Sopa Lodge.

Day 8: Lake Naivasha.

On this day, you will arrive in Nairobi and depart for Naivasha immediately. By the time you reach Naivasha, you will be hungry and so you will just have lunch. After lunch, you will transfer to Lake Naivasha for a boat ride and a walking safari at Crescent Island, one of the few places in the world where one can walk amidst wild animals. On this day, you will have another boat ride in the after and you might see another group of wild animals. Later in the night, you will have dinner and overnight at Naivasha Sopa Lodge.

Day 9: Transfer to Masai Mara.

You will wake up in the morning for your breakfast and after transfer to the airstrip for a flight to Masai Mara. You will depart in the morning such that you get to Mara in time. When you arrive at Mara, you will be picked by our safari guide or driver who will transfer you to Masai Mara where you will spend you night from. You will check in at a late lunch time hour and begin enjoying the lodge facilities. You will as well have your late lunch and then go for a game drive. Later in the evening, you will come back to Mara Serena lodge for your dinner and overnight.

Day 10 & 11: Masai Mara.

You will have your morning breakfast as usual and then enjoy the game drives for the whole day. The reason for considering two days at Masai Mara is that it is a place which is very interesting and enjoyable. A place that many people go to and promise to go back for as many times as possible. The Mara reserve is 1510 sq km of incredible wide-open landscapes and fertile riverine woodland following the looping meanders of the Mara and Talek rivers. There is a lot of good looking wildlife in Masai Mara. You will see Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, and wildebeest. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos also exist in great numbers. In A few cases, you can as well see lions basking after a heavy meal or some times checking plains for their next meal. You will have your dinner and overnight at Mara Serena lodge.

Day 12: Transfer to Masai Mara/ Mombasa.

You will wake up in the morning, transfer to the Airport to fly to Masai Mara. You will get to Masai Mara at around lunch time. You will have your heavy lunch and then continue to the airstrip such that you connect with the flight that will transfer you to the one and only place for life goers. Because all activities here are mostly enjoyable during day and that you have reached in the night, you will have your preferred dinner and over night at Mombasa Serena Beach Hotel.

Day 13, 14, 15 & 16: Mombasa.

You will have breakfast in the morning and then relax at either your hotel or at the beach. In the evening you can enjoy all the beach sports activities like swimming, beach volley ball, there are endless. You will be staying around Mombasa for 5 days as well as at Mombasa Serena Beach Hotel.

Day 17: Transfer to Nairobi.

With all the too much fun you would have had in all the above destinations, you will head to Nairobi where you will have lunch, dinner and over night at Carnivore Restaurant.

Day 18: Departure.

After you morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the Airport to wait for departure flight back home.
